(Laser) Cutting vinyl for clapboards

A couple of posts ago, there was a photo of a yellow depot with canopies. The siding is simulated clapboards made of marine vinyl painted with exterior paint. It works pretty well, and we plan to use a lot of it, given the prevalence of clapboards in early 20th century New England. Here is how we are making them. They are cut 3/8" wide, and lapped so that a 1/4" is visible. Although you can see a slight singe on the back, the cut is clean on the front. This is sort of a "wrong tool for the job" situation, but it works pretty well, so we're going with it.
